  • Many bands offer the option to add special requests to their setlist for free. Discuss your desired songs with your chosen band during the booking process.

  • The standard fee for a live act often encompasses the following:

    Performance Duration: Most acts offer a set performance time, typically of two hours. This duration can often be divided to best suit your event's flow (e.g., two sets of 60 minutes or three sets of 40 minutes).

    Playlist DJ Service: During the act's breaks, they provide a playlist DJ service to maintain a seamless musical experience throughout the event.

    Default Performance Window: Your performers typically arrive around 5:00 pm (subject to venue availability) to get set up and sound checked, and finishes by midnight.

    Travel and Accommodation: With all of our live acts, travel costs and accommodation are included within the standard fee.

    High-Quality Sound System: A professional-grade sound system is also included in the base price to ensure optimal audio quality for your event.

    Additional Considerations:

    It's important to note that some elements may not be included in the base price and could incur additional fees. These might include:

    Extended Performance: If you desire the live act to perform for a longer duration than the standard time, there may be an additional charge.

    Shorter Performance: While less common, some flexibility may exist regarding a shorter performance duration, potentially affecting the quoted price.

Bookings and Logistics

  • Popular wedding bands get booked quickly, especially during peak seasons (spring, summer, and Autumn). To secure your entertainment well in advance and ensure your preferred choice is available, booking them 12-18 months in advance is ideal.

    Here's a breakdown to consider:

    Early Booking (12-18 Months Out): This timeframe offers the most options and gives you the best chance of booking your dream band.

    Flexible Booking (6-12 Months Out): With some flexibility on your wedding date (weekdays or off-season) and band preferences, you might still find great options in this window.

    Last-Minute Availability:

    We understand that sometimes things come up last minute. Here at Book My Wedding Band, we also maintain a list of talented bands who might have availability for shorter notice bookings. Feel free to contact us to see if we have any bands available for your wedding date.

  • We provide clear and transparent contracts outlining all services, fees, and expectations. A small deposit secures your booking (payable via Debit or Credit card online, within 3 days of signing the contract) with the remaining balance due before the event, payable directly to the band.

  • We happily communicate with your venue and other vendors to ensure seamless coordination regarding sound checks, setup, and logistics.

  • As a standard protocol, our artists will reach out to you directly four weeks prior to your event date to discuss the finer details of the performance. This contact will ensure clear communication and allow you to address any logistical questions, confirm timings, and collaborate on song requests. We understand the importance of a successful event, and this proactive approach guarantees you ample time to collaborate with the artist and create a memorable experience.

Music and Performance

  • You can definitely request specific songs for your reception, but it depends on who you've hired for the music. Here's a breakdown:

    Live acts: Our live acts usually have a set repertoire based on their musical style. While they might not be able to play every request, most bands are open to accommodating a few special songs on their setlist, especially if you discuss it with them in advance.

    DJ: DJs typically have a much wider music library and are more likely to be able to play your requests. Many DJs will even take requests throughout the night, though it's a good idea to discuss your preferences for genres and vibes beforehand to ensure a smooth flow.

  • Most bands require short breaks throughout their performance. We factor these into the booking timeline and ensure they don't disrupt the flow of your celebration.

  • All of our bands offer a playlist DJ services (free of charge) after set up and soundcheck and for breaks. Most bands also provide a free playlist DJ up until midnight, after their live performance ends. A manned DJ service can be added for a fee.

  • Both Playlist DJ and Manned DJ services provide music for your event, but they differ in terms of interaction and flexibility. Both are normally ran from either a laptop or a digital device:

    Playlist DJ: This is a pre-programmed music selection created by our DJs to complement the overall tone of your event. It's perfect for background music during cocktail hour, dinner, or in-between sets of your live entertainment. This service is completely complimentary after sound check and throughout the duration of your booked live entertainment. Most bands will also include the Playlist DJ service right up until midnight, free of charge (this will be confirmed during your band booking).

    Manned DJ: This is a more interactive option where a member from your booked live act acts as the DJ. They can play from a prepared playlist in addition to taking requests from your guests and adapting the music to keep the energy high throughout the night. This is a fantastic choice for events where you want a more dynamic and personalized dance floor experience. The Manned DJ service is an add-on to your live entertainment package.

  • We have backup plans in place to minimize disruptions. In case of cancellation, we'll work diligently to find a suitable replacement or offer a full refund.

  • Our bands are all about bringing the energy, but we understand the importance of keeping the volume within the venue's limits. We achieve this through various approaches. Firstly, some of our bands utilize electronic drum kits or lighter sticks, allowing for powerful drumming without exceeding the decibel threshold. Secondly, we often use in-ear monitors instead of speaker wedges, minimizing the overall stage volume. Additionally, our musicians are skilled at adapting their playing style, focusing on dynamics and tighter arrangements to create a captivating experience without relying solely on volume. Finally, for certain events, we offer acoustic sets featuring instruments like cajons, ensuring a captivating performance even with stricter sound limitations.
